For clarity and consistency throughout this Privacy Policy, the terms “Maheshwari Vivah”, “we”, “us”, “our” and “Platform” refer to the Maheshwari Vivah matchmaking service as a whole, including its mobile application, website, web-based interface, system infrastructure, front-end and back-end systems, official social media pages, communication channels and all related features, services and digital environments operated under the name Maheshwari Vivah. Any reference to the “app”, “website”, “web Platform”, “system” or similar expressions shall be interpreted as referring to this unified service unless expressly stated otherwise. These terms are used interchangeably for convenience and do not represent separate legal entities.

1. Information We Collect

To facilitate effective matchmaking, we collect the following:

A. Information Submitted by You:

• Personal & Professional Details: Name, gender, date of birth, gotra, marital status, height, educational qualifications, occupation, govt ID and income.
• Contact Information: Phone number and email address (used for verification and account security).
• Media: Photos and profile descriptions shared by you to make your profile attractive to potential matches.
• Payment Data: If you choose a Premium Plan, billing is handled securely via third-party gateways. Maheshwari Vivah does not store your sensitive bank or card details.

B. Information Collected Automatically:

• Platform Activity: Log-in history, pages visited and interactions with other profiles to improve your experience.
• Device Data: IP address, device ID and browser type for security and technical optimization.
• Cookies & Analytical Tools: Our Platform uses cookies, web beacons and mobile identifiers to recognize your device, maintain session security and analyze app performance. This helps us understand user behavior to improve the matchmaking experience.

Certain data fields such as income, marital status, religious identifiers (Gotra) and government-issued identity verification details may be considered sensitive in nature. Such information is collected voluntarily and processed strictly for lawful matchmaking and verification purposes.

2. Eligibility & Age Restriction

The Platform is strictly intended for individuals who are legally eligible for marriage under applicable law. In accordance with the prevailing legal age requirements, female members must have completed 18 years of age and male members must have completed 21 years of age at the time of registration. Maheshwari Vivah does not knowingly collect or process personal data of individuals who fail to meet these age requirements. If any profile is found to have been created using false, incorrect or misleading age information or is discovered to belong to an underage individual, such profile may be suspended or removed and appropriate action may be taken.

3. Profile Visibility and Transparency

(How Your Data is Displayed, Access Structure & Member-Based Access Control)

Maheshwari Vivah is a society-specific matchmaking Platform where transparency plays an essential role in building trust between individuals and families. To facilitate effective matchmaking within the Platform, certain Core Identity Fields remain visible to all registered and logged-in members at all times. These may include: Name, Gender, Date of Birth / Age, Education, Profession, Gotra, Location, Marital status, Other basic profile information voluntarily provided by the member.

Such visibility is essential to enable meaningful profile evaluation and connection within the Platform environment and authorized channels. Access to this basic information is strictly limited to registered members using the Platform through authorized channels. No full profile access is granted to non-members or the general public.

• Member-to-Member Visibility: For effective matchmaking, all basic details provided in your profile (except sensitive login credentials, contact person and family details) are visible to other registered members of the Platform.
• Profile Visitor Privacy: To encourage fearless browsing and help users find the best match without hesitation, Maheshwari Vivah does not disclose visitor information. When you view a profile, the owner of that profile will not be notified of your visit. This policy applies uniformly to all members, ensuring that user privacy is maintained while exploring potential matches.
• Interest Request Limitation: To maintain a respectful interaction environment and prevent spam, the Platform imposes limits on the number of Interest Requests a user can send within a specific timeframe. These limits apply uniformly to both complimentary access and future premium plans, ensuring a balanced matchmaking experience for all members.
• Non-Member Access Restriction: Full profile details are not accessible to the general public. Only registered and authenticated members of Maheshwari Vivah may view member profiles within the Platform interface. The Platform does not grant third parties unrestricted access to member profile information.
• User-Controlled Media Privacy: While Core profile information remains visible to facilitate matchmaking, users may have limited options to hide specific additional Gallery photographs or media content details through the "Privacy Settings" within the app or web Platform.
1. Members may upload additional photographs or media content in the Gallery section.
2. Visibility of Gallery content is fully controlled by the respective member through available privacy settings.
3. The Platform does not override or modify member-selected Gallery visibility preferences.
4. Gallery access rules apply uniformly to all members.
• Contact Person Details – Controlled & Plan-Based Access: Contact person details are not publicly visible by default. Access to contact details may occur through either of the following mechanisms:
1. Mutual Consent-Based Access: Where two members mutually express interest and accept the connection through the Platform’s designated interaction feature, both members may gain access to each other’s complete profile information, including contact person and family details.
2. Plan-Based Direct Contact Access: Members who subscribe to an eligible plan may receive the additional privilege of directly accessing a limited number of contact person details of other members, subject to the limits and conditions of the subscribed plan. However:
   • Such direct access is restricted to contact person details only.
   • Access remains subject to plan-specific limits.
   • This privilege does not grant automatic access to family information.
• Family Information – Mutual Consent Requirement: Family information remains restricted and is disclosed only upon mutual acceptance between members through the Platform’s designated interaction mechanism. Subscription to any plan does not override the mutual consent requirement for accessing family details.
• Uniform Application of Basic Visibility Rules: All members, regardless of plan status:
  1. Can view basic profile information of other members.
  2. Are subject to user-controlled Gallery privacy settings.
  3. Must obtain mutual consent to access full family details.

  Plan subscriptions only provide extended usage allowances and limited direct access to contact person details as described above. No other profile sections are unlocked automatically.

  Note: Since the launch of the Platform in May 2021, Maheshwari Vivah has not offered any Premium or paid subscription plans and all core features have been available under a complimentary access model. With this update, the Platform has undergone a complete upgrade and is introducing Premium subscription plans for the first time to support enhanced security, ongoing technological development, operational sustainability and improved features. To ensure data integrity and system compatibility, all previous registrations (both verified and unverified) have been removed from the active Platform database. All previously registered users have been notified via email. To continue using our services, all existing and new members are required to complete a fresh registration and verification process. Following the introduction of Premium plans, a fixed and limited complimentary access will continue to remain available, allowing users to utilize the Platform’s core matchmaking features without requiring any Premium plan. Any plan-based features shall operate strictly in accordance with the conditions defined in this Section, while all core privileges remain identical for complimentary and Premium users. This entire process is fully governed by the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

Maheshwari Vivah follows a strict "No-Sale" policy regarding member data. Member information is not sold, rented or commercially distributed to third parties. Access to basic profile information is restricted to registered and authenticated members within the secure Platform interface. However, once a member’s basic profile information is viewed by another registered member, Maheshwari Vivah cannot technically prevent screenshots, recordings, manual copying or further external sharing of such information by that member. Any misuse of information after it has been voluntarily viewed or shared is beyond the reasonable control of the Platform. User information may be shared only under the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers (Operational Necessity): Limited data may be shared with authorized service providers strictly for operational purposes necessary to run the Platform, such as:
1. Payment processing services
2. Technical infrastructure support providers such as servers, email services, messaging services, etc.
3. Other Security and fraud prevention services used by the Platform.

Such service providers are permitted to use the information only for the specific purpose for which it is shared and are required to maintain appropriate confidentiality and data protection safeguards. Such service providers process data in accordance with their own published privacy policies and industry-standard security practices applicable to their services.

• Notification Previews: When a user sends an "Interest" request, a limited preview of the sender's profile, including a small avatar/photo and name, may be displayed in the push notification sent to the receiver. This allows for quick recognition and improved interaction within the Platform.
• User-Initiated Profile Sharing: If a member voluntarily uses the Platform’s “Share Profile” feature to share their profile link through external platforms (such as WhatsApp or similar services):
1. Only limited basic profile information may be visible in the shared preview.
2. Access to complete profile details and contact information remains restricted to registered and logged-in members of the Platform.

The Platform does not control or assume responsibility for how external recipients further distribute shared links once voluntarily shared by a member.

• Platform-Managed Promotion: To increase visibility and awareness within the community, Maheshwari Vivah may, from time to time, share limited and masked basic profile information (such as initials, age, education and city) on its official social media pages, groups, channels or broadcast lists managed by the Platform. Such sharing shall not include full names, contact person details, family information, login credentials or any sensitive personal data. These external channels may include individuals who are not registered members of the Platform; however, shared links do not provide unrestricted public access to full member profiles. Complete profile details, contact person information and family data remain accessible exclusively to registered and authenticated members within the secure Platform interface.
• Legal Compliance & Protection: Member information may be disclosed if required:
1. Under applicable laws.
2. Pursuant to a lawful court order or request from a competent government authority.
3. To prevent fraud, misuse or illegal activities affecting the Platform or its members.

Any such disclosure shall be limited to what is legally required.

5. Data Access, Control and Legal Rights

• Profile Updates & Verification: Users can edit their educational, professional and lifestyle details at any time. However, to prevent fraud and ensure Platform integrity, Core Identity Fields such as Name, Surname, Maternal Surname (Mama Surname) and Date of Birth (DOB) are locked after initial registration. Any request to update these core fields will require the submission of official supporting documents.
• Identity Verification Policy: We use Government-approved IDs (like Aadhaar or other) solely for verifying Core Identity Fields (Name, Gender, Date of Birth, etc.).
1. Data Privacy: We encourage users to upload Masked Aadhaar (where only the last 4 digits are visible).
2. Storage & Locking: Once verified, the document is moved to a secure archive. It is never displayed to other members and is used only to "Lock" your core fields to prevent future fraud. We do not use this data for any secondary purpose or commercial gain. Such identification documents are retained only for as long as necessary for verification integrity and fraud prevention purposes and are securely deleted thereafter in accordance with internal retention practices.
• Data Safety: Once the verification process is complete, Maheshwari Vivah does not use these documents for any other purpose. We maintain strict security protocols to ensure that your identification documents are stored safely.
• User Safety: Reporting and Blocking: To maintain a secure and respectful environment, the Platform provides dedicated safety tools for every member:
1. Reporting Profiles: If you encounter a profile that contains fake information, uses offensive language, impersonates someone else or violates our community guidelines, you can use the "Report" button available on every profile. Our team will investigate such reports and take necessary actions, including warnings or permanent removal.
2. Blocking Profiles: If you no longer wish to interact with a specific member or want to restrict them from viewing your profile, you may use the "Block" feature. Once blocked, that member will not be able to communicate with you or access your profile details through the Platform.
• Account Closure & Data Retention: Maheshwari Vivah maintains a clear and structured policy for closure or suspension of user accounts along with an established system framework governing user data retention. Users may, at their sole discretion and at any time, directly initiate the temporary or permanent closure of their profile through the “Account” section of the Platform without submitting any separate request or requiring manual intervention. The account closure process shall commence immediately upon the user’s action and confirmation within the system.
1. Temporary Closure: If a user has pending profile updates, incomplete details or wishes to temporarily hide their profile from public view for a limited period, the Temporary Closure option is recommended.
   • Upon activation of the Temporary Closure option, the profile shall be deactivated and immediately removed from active public view on the Platform. The profile shall not be visible, searchable or accessible to other members through the active Platform interface during such period.
   • The user may reactivate the account at any time through the Account section without undergoing a fresh registration process, subject to system validation. However, any continued use of the Platform after reactivation shall remain subject to verification and the Platform policies applicable at the time of reactivation.
2. Permanent Closure: Users may request to close their account at any time, whether they have found a partner or for any other reason.
   • Upon closure, the profile is fully deactivated and immediately removed from active public view on the Platform, ensuring it cannot be viewed, accessed or interacted with by other members through the active Platform interface, regardless of any prior interactions.
   • However, due to technical processes such as server updates, system synchronization, search engine indexing, cached pages or third-party caching mechanisms, complete removal from all cached or archived versions outside the active Platform interface may take upto 14 days. During this transitional period, the profile shall remain disabled and inaccessible on the active Platform systems.
   • While the profile is hidden from the Platform's front-end, Maheshwari Vivah retains records of member interactions (such as sent or received Interests and transaction history) "as-is". This retention shall be maintained only for as long as strictly required for billing verification, internal audits, compliance with applicable laws or other legitimate and lawful purposes and in any case, for a maximum period of 3 years, after which such records will be securely deleted or anonymized. These archived records do not affect the privacy or invisibility of the closed profile.
   • Before the process for complete removal of such data is initiated, Users may request reactivation of their account at any time to resume services, subject to verification and the Platform policies applicable at the time of reactivation.
• Profile Re-Display (Optional Success Stories): Upon successfully finding a life partner and only with the explicit consent or request of the user, limited profile data may be highlighted in a designated “Success Stories” section on the Platform. This feature is intended for reference and society inspiration. No data will be featured in this section without the user’s prior permission.
• Content Responsibility & Verification Disclaimer: Members are solely responsible for the authenticity of the information they provide. Maheshwari Vivah’s verification process is strictly limited to validating core identity fields (Name, Surname, DOB and Gender) using official documents. All other profile details (Professional, Financial or Personal) are provided by the user and are not verified physically or independently.

• The Platform reserves the right to investigate complaints of misuse, harassment or fraudulent activity and may suspend or remove accounts found to be in violation of Platform policies.

6. Data Security Disclaimer

Maheshwari Vivah adopts reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information. However, no digital platform, internet transmission or data storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users share their information on the Platform with an understanding and acceptance of these inherent digital risks. By using the Platform, users acknowledge and agree that Maheshwari Vivah cannot be held responsible for any unauthorized access, data breach or other security incidents beyond its reasonable control. Users are encouraged to take their own precautions, such as maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials and monitoring their accounts for any unusual activity.

7. Mobile Verification

(OTP via SMS & WhatsApp)

• Authentication: Maheshwari Vivah may use multiple verification methods to ensure secure login and account authentication. These may include password-based authentication, email verification, one-time passwords (OTPs) or other technological means, as deemed appropriate from time to time.
• Channels: By registering, you consent to receive verification codes and account-related alerts through channels such as SMS (Text Messages) and WhatsApp, among others that may be used in the future.
• Communication: These permissions are requested to ensure that only verified mobile numbers or accounts can access the Platform. They also allow us to keep you informed about your account status, Premium Plan information, Platform updates, new features, security alerts or other important notifications related to your use of the Platform.

8. Changes to This Policy

Maheshwari Vivah reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy and to change, suspend or enhance any services or Platform features from time to time to reflect evolving societal needs, user feedback, technological advancements, operational requirements or applicable legal and regulatory considerations. Such changes may also be necessary to ensure compatibility with different platforms, devices or service environments through which the Platform is accessed. Your continued use of the Platform after such updates shall constitute your acceptance of the revised Policy.
